loves me yet knows the depths of my soul
God has come to me again, saying, “Take a lamb, and with its blood, mark the lintel and posts of every door. For tonight, I shall pass through the land of Egypt and smite all the firstborn. But when I see the blood upon your door, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not enter.”

We often believe that if God were really good, He would give us a better life in some way, but if we think that God owes us something, we are actually thinking about justice, because grace is never owed. God is not obligated to give grace to anyone. The classic definition of grace is “unmerited favor.” When God behaves in a favorable manner toward us even though we have no claim to it by our merit, that is always grace.

“In his tender mercies, God has an incredible capacity to love the unlovely.”— R.C. Sproul
“Have you ever wondered if we’re missing it? It’s crazy, if you think about it. The God of the universe-Creator of nitrogen and pine needles, galaxies and E minor-loves us with a radical, unconditional, self-sacrificing love. And what is our typical response? We go to church, sing songs, and try not to cuss.”— Francis Chan
“But even when I am afraid, I keep on trusting you.”— Psalm 56:3
Proverbs 4:23
How liberating it is to pursue wholeness instead of perfection
We do not go only to the New Testament to learn of Jesus; He is proclaimed throughout the Old Testament, too. From Genesis to Revelation, we find the story of Jesus, the Christ.
